Jaded Blue

Dez Isher

When I was a kid I wanted to be a cop, I liked the uniform, you got to help people, they gave you a gun to get the bad guys, people respected you and you were held to a higher standard than the rest of the community, which was a responsibility, it wasnt for everyone, thats why they gave you the badge, the uniform, and the gun, thats why people respected you. There was honor in that, there was a sense of pride in that, thats what made it cool.

It must suck to be a kid now days, generations see cops not as I thought about a cop, or at least how it was thought to me as a little toddler, to 'serve and protect'. It must suck to grow up having to protect yourself from the 'good guys'. Who do you go to when there are the regular 'bad guys', if the 'good guys' are 'bad guys' too, its confusing to be a kid growing up in this. What an endless, hopeless maze!

I guess if you believe in Darwinism, you have to survive, evolve, maybe you got to be a 'bad guy' to be able to be a 'good guy'. Its a tight rope to dance, hard life to live, cause you know even your own people will see you as a 'bad guy' but you in know your heart, you are a 'good guy', and how do you balance it, how do yo manage how people treat you based on their own external perception, because all you are searching for is to be 'good'.

To be 'Served and Protected” is a luxury, it shouldnt be, it should be like air, or at least in home plumbing, there is a cost to setup and maintain but it should be basic, fundamental to the core of basic human living with dignity. Its not, its tilted so wide spread that it may seem systematic, maybe it is, maybe it is the remembrance of the bearings of a society built on manipulation and constitutional control in a race to catch up with European ancestors from which they deflected.

The oppressed, becoming the oppressor, which is almost always the case, and understanding this, THIS is the Fear! The fear of any man which will lose its power over to whom it most in-graciously governed, as was the fai

th with many in history. The fear is what will become of me, when I can no longer yield my power as I wish, just or injust not debated. This remains the struggle for the ruling system which has to find a way to create a system of inclusion despite its own fears of being overshadowed and essentially dominated.
