US has declared economic War on the world ... Tariffs on Turkey, sanctions on Russia, Iran, tariffs on China, threatening sanctions on India for buying Iranian Oil, tariffs on Europe, ending NAFTA.
When you spend a Trillion Dollars a year on your military, and its the biggest baddest kick ass military man has ever known in history, at some point you will flex its muscle.
Right now the US is using its economy and buying power to bend and twist arms, but the economy is loud because the military eventually has the final say in all matters.
There was sanctions on Iraq too, and there was no Bombs of Mass Destruction, but there was plenty of OIL. Infact the original name institute by the Bush administration of the operation in Iraq was, O.I.L., operation Iraqi Liberation, wink, wink.
The US foreign strategy is to rip up all biding unilateral agreements between nations, and deal with each country individually, which is classic, divide and conquer. European countries alone can not stand up to the US but as a Union they have a voice.
The US does have 1 very solid ally though, oil rich Saudi Arabia who is behind the conflicts in Yemen, Palestine, Iraq, Syria and is a known producer and contributor of terrorist organizations. Saudi Arabias long list of terrorist organizations seems to be a lighter that the US uses to install its military in foreign lands and use the militia as its para-military force which does its dirty work.
Terrorists create conflict in an area, the US military comes to 'help' and the military never leaves !!!
Its like hiring a security guard that works for the mob, at any time, they have access to you and could kill you, and if they ask for a raise, well what can you say?
