Your Worth

Dez Isher

Lets look at this from two separate aspects; one will be historical, the other will be practical.

For those living in modernized nations take a look at your life, the chair or seat you are sitting in, the cup you are drinking your coffee from, the coffee maker, the computer or phone you are using to read this, the fan or A/C cooling you, the heater heating you, the curtains keeping the sun out, your t-shirt, your towel, the hot water for your shower, the container holding your shampoo and lotions, toothbrush, the shower curtain, well I can go on for enough pages to write a novel, in conclusion, what do these things have in common?

All these things, as almost anything in your life including the electricity are a product of OIL.

Life, as we know it and understand it, would not be possible without oil. It is as much a necessity as air and water. Oil and its byproducts have become an absolute part of human existence. Oil is food, in fact without oil, the production of food would stop. There would be no food without oil. You killed your own cow lately? Planted your own vegetables?

How do you run a large scale farm, then package and deliver the food to a grocery store, which it is shelved, refrigerated and preserved for you to drive there to purchase, made possible without oil? Impossible.

In fact, I can argue that the only thing that is more important to human existence is air. Only air is available to you without the need for oil. Without the existence of oil, people in modern countries would only have air to breathe because there would be no food and no clean water to drink. No animals to hunt. Without oil, modern civilization would end. Seems far fetched like a summer blockbuster movie starring Will Smith.

The grave reality is that we need to know our worth. Cut off oil production for a week and see the chaos it causes first with the financial markets and its trickle down effect. Practical is the basic law of supply and demand. The more of a need you have for it

, the more expensive it becomes, this is business, this is capitalism, this is the laws of the universe but without recognizing this we can not change our position in the negotiations.

Early in the 1900s, British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill gave a speech which he mentioned the 100 year plan for the middle east. In this, he laid a plan out which was to divide the nations of the middle east in small provinces, empowering a leader and through this becoming a puppet master which would divide then conquer through sheer elegance and manipulation letting the puppeteers do all the dirty work. Winston Churchill said, “he who controls the middle east, controls the world.”

The US was listening and after the World Wars when Europe had been weakened, the United States took the lead and liberated peoples that were colonized by the Europeans. In this, they also installed their own leaders, as with Sadaam Hussein in Iraq, Reza Shah in Iran, as with Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and of course creating the country of Israel which would be the base of American efforts in the control of the middle east.

When the people of Iran kicked the king out and elected a true democratic president, the CIA constituted a regime change and brought the king back. When that same king in 1976 said he would no longer give handouts to the colonizers, he was not a king by 1980.

When Saddam Hussein who started out as a CIA operative decided to sell his oil using the Euro instead of the Dollar, he was also removed. When Kadafi wanted to develop a different currency rivaling the dollar, he was assassinated by direct US bombs.

It is clear based upon the efforts, energy and vigilance that the Americans have for the middle east and oil, how important it is. They recognized this value and countries like Saudi Arabia need to recognize this value as well. As the worlds largest producer of oil, Saudi Arabia sets the price of oil, Saudi Arabia can control the output and bring the US to its knees.

The proble

m in Saudi Arabia is that, the Saudi's in a rush to modernize their country and military have invested heavily in US based infrastructure, depending heavily on US based military to protect their country, in essence handcuffing themselves. The heavy dependence of foreign protection causes deep fear within the Saudi elite that they have become exposable puppeteers.

Saudi Arabia in essence can control the world, but itself is under control, placing itself in an self imposed house arrest. The US military presence in Saudi Arabia is a desert mirage. United States military bases meant to protect Saudi oil fields also act as silencers of Saudi's. At any time those same military installations will use their force to take over the vast oil fields that are more important than food or water to the human existence.

The Saudi's are on thin ice as their greed base
